Operating the robot is as simple as Prep, Point and Go, requiring no unique skills or complicated training.

Preparing for operation is relatively quick:

• Unplug battery charger from rear of robot. Power up and log in.
• For the DuoBot and HydroBot, install cotton filter into canister. Add no more than 3-6 oz. of non-foaming cleaning solution.
• Power on robot and enter assigned passcode using keypad.
• Fill the DuoBot and HyrdroBot tanks with water and cleaning solution to the prescribed line. Inspect the water purification system.
• On-board diagnostics automatically check sonars, battery levels, communications, contact sensors, fluid levels, and pager operation.

Steer the robot into position by using the handle bar control grips, which initiate movement of the robot.

Once positioned at the starting point, select a cleaning mode from the icon-based touch-screen pad.

There are three separate autonomous cleaning modes: Route Clean, Auto Clean & Spot Clean, as well as a Manual Clean mode.

Route Cleaning Mode is the most comprehensive, allowing you to choose from custom cleaning routes that have been previously mapped and stored in memory. This provides a variety of route options based on your need or schedule. For example, you may choose the route to clean all or only some of the halls or rooms in a floor plan.

Auto Clean Mode is used for singular large rectangular areas that have not been mapped.

Spot Clean Mode is for areas 20 square feet or less. The robot will automatically detect width of the area and set the correct number of looping passes to cover the floor surface.

Manual Mode is for quick spill clean-up or areas with minimal cleaning. The robot runs in forward and reverse, and can turn 180 degrees. In the HyrdroBot and DuoBot, you can set the amount of water to be distributed on the floor.

Once you have selected a cleaning route and style, simply press go and the robot will run by itself for up to 4 hours of uninterrupted cleaning (longer if you swap out the batteries with the optional Battery Exchange Kit).

The operator is now free to work on other cleaning projects.

Once the robot has completed the assigned area it can either return to the starting point, or stop and page the operator.

An amber light provides a visual indicator that the robot is in operation.

Operators are alerted via local pager, e-mail or cell phone text messages when the robot needs assistance.

Alerts occur when the machine has stopped, become blocked, paused, or the emergency stop button was pressed.

The pager notifies the operator to attend to the machine and view the alert on the robot's user interface.

Messages to e-mail addresses and to cell phones as texts provide more description, including successful route completion, low battery, clogged filters, low tank solution, etc.

All machines have paging capability. E-mail and cell phone text messaging require a local Wi-Fi or 3G connection.

The robot will operate for about four hours per battery pack charge.

Before recharging, maneuver the robot to the fluid dump location and power it off.

Remove the dump hose to dump the fluid, then remove and clean the filters.

To charge the robot, plug the red battery charger into the rear of the robot; it needs at least 8 hours to charge properly.

There is an accessory Battery Exchange System that allows the operator to quickly swap batteries for an additional four hours of operation.

The robots use gel cell batteries, which don't emit fumes while charging.
