Even the most reliable machinery in the world is subject to wear and
mechanical failures, especially if not properly maintained.
Intellibot has equipped the GEN-X with a comprehensive diagnostics
package that gives owners, operators, and Intellibot Service Technicians
a powerful tool to get a stalled robot back into action, and more
importantly, avoid unwanted breakdowns in the first place.
The powerful onboard computer of the GEN-X controls all of the robot's
sub-systems including drive wheels, vacuum motors, lights, brush motors,
and solution flow. The computer tracks the usage of all these
major components, allowing maintenance to be strategically scheduled to
avoid potential breakdowns. The computer also logs any errors or faults
encountered during daily operation for later analysis.
Should the GEN-X encounter a problem, the operator can quickly and
easily perform a series of diagnostics to test the operation of any
major system. Interactive menus, accessed through the robot's
touch screen, walk the operator through the process...no specialized
training is required.
The GEN-X has wireless access to allow the robot to upload information
to Intellibot's servers. Like the black box on an airplane, the robot
records several streams of data during normal operation into a 'flight
recorder" file. This file can be accessed remotely by Intellibot's
Service Technicians to give a clear picture of what led to a service
interruption so that it can be corrected. The wireless access of
the GEN-X also allows service technicians to access the central computer
and run the same diagnostics tests remotely, plus additional tests
specific to service. The robot can even be monitored in real time
while in operation to check the function of different components.
The diagnostics package includes the ability to remotely:
*
Check Infrared Sensors, Gyro, and Battery Voltage.
*
Check digital imager output. (used for color tracking and edge tracking)
* Verify that the waypoints being used to connect different areas are valid.
*
Monitor digital inputs to the computer. *
Turn selected digital outputs from computer on or off to isolate
component functions. *
Write the current "flight recorder" data out to a file.
*
Check current status of all contact sensors on the machine. (front and
rear tough shields) *
Monitor the gyro heading and drift over a period of time.
*
Calibrate the gyroscope using a flat wall as reference.
*
View all the current readings from all of the infrared sensors on the machine.
*
Monitor the sonar readings. *
Turn off any device on the machine, including motors, fans, lights,
vacuum motors, etc * Check the control
over the flow of cleaning solution. *
Show the current value of over 300 parameters
*
Temporarily change over 300 parameters.
* Drive machine manually via keyboard commands.
